Kingman, Ind.—Mrs. Alice Noel, 81, a former resident of the Cates community, died Sunday morning (July 9, 1967) in Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Ind. She had been a patient there one week. She had recently resided with a daughter, Mrs. L. G. D. (Ruth) Wertz of Marion, Ind. Mrs. Noel was born in Fountain County Oct. 9, 1885, the daughter of John and Margaret Simmons Woodrow. She was married to Nelson Noel who preceded her in death in February of 1943. Mrs. Noel was a member of the Cates Evangelical United Brethren Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wertz and Mrs. Ray (Ethel) Gallapoo of Elwood, Ind.; a son, Carl of Indianapolis Route 2; a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Beulah) Staggs of Kingman Route 3; three brothers, Charley of Tangiers, Fred of Covington Rural Route and Dewey of Covington; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann, a sister and three brothers. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cates Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Yung Chen of Pendleton, Ind., officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery northwest of Cates. Friends may call at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman, Ind., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
